homorganic (adj.)
A general term in the PHONETIC classification of speech sounds, referring to sounds which are produced at the same PLACE OF ARTICULATION, such as [p], [b] and [m]. Sounds involving independent articulations may be referred to as heterorganic. Sounds involving adjacent, and thus to some degree mutually dependent, articulations are also sometimes further distinguished as ‘contiguous’.
