if you cook meat that you are not going to eat straight away, cool it as quickly as possible and then put it in the fridge or freezer – remember to keep cooked meat separate from raw meat and only reheat cooked meat once.
always thoroughly clean plates, utensils, surfaces and hands straight away after they have touched raw or thawing meat using warm soapy water or disinfectant cleaning products

The tallest man ever recorded was American giant Robert Wadlow (1918–1940), who stood 8 feet 11 inches. His size was the result of an abnormally enlarged pituitary gland.

Storing meat safely
It is important to store and prepare meat safely to stop bacteria from spreading and to avoid food poisoning:
store raw meat or raw poultry in clean sealed containers on the bottom shelf of the fridge, so the meat cannot touch or drip onto other food
follow any storage instructions on the label and do not eat meat after its "use by" date
store red meat or raw poultry in a freezer before its "use by" date

Dwelling on what you did wrong does not help you achieve goals. However, focusing on what you can do now and in the future helps you to. Instead of letting the rock in your path stop your journey, focus on moving forward and learning how to better deal with rocks in the future.

If you currently eat more than 90g (cooked weight) of red or processed meat a day, the Department of Health and Social Care advises that you cut down to 70g.
90g is equivalent to around 3 thinly cut slices of beef, lamb or pork, where each slice is about the size of half a piece of sliced bread. A cooked breakfast containing 2 typical British sausages and 2 rashers of bacon is equivalent to 130g.

Determine what needs improvement and what does not. It is important to be specific in your goals, and to know which goals are top priorities.

Make sure that when you go to bed you feel you have accomplished something that day - it does not have to be something life changing in itself, but making the effort to be a little nicer or read a few more pages of that book every day will have more of an impact than occasional large things.

How much red and processed meat should we eat?
Red meat (such as beef, lamb and pork) can form part of a healthy diet. But eating a lot of red and processed meat probably increases your risk of bowel (colorectal) cancer.
Processed meat refers to meat that has been preserved by smoking, curing, salting or adding preservatives. This includes sausages, bacon, ham, salami and pates.

Instead of making grand goals, start by establishing little goals that achieve the grand goal. For instance losing 50 pounds may seem like a daunting task but something like no chocolate for a week may be more viable.

Cut off any visible fat and skin before cooking – crackling and poultry skin are much higher in fat than the meat itself.
Here are some other ways to reduce fat when cooking meat:
grill meat, rather than frying
avoid adding extra fat or oil when cooking meat
roast meat on a metal rack above a roasting tin so the fat can run off
try using smaller quantities of meat and replacing some of the meat with vegetables, pulses and starchy foods in dishes such as stews,…

Thinking about a positive future helps you imagine a reality where you are the best self you can be, while imagining a negative reality results in an awareness of what might happen if you do not meet your improvement goals.

These tips can help you buy healthier options:
ask your butcher for a lean cut
if you are buying pre-packed meat, check the nutrition label to see how much fat it contains and compare products
go for turkey and chicken without the skin as these are lower in fat
try to limit processed meat products such as sausages, salami, pate and beefburgers, because these are generally high in fat – they are often high in salt, too
try to limit meat products in pastry, such as…
