The organization added that nutrition is an important part of health and development, and improving nutrition is linked to improving the health of infants, children, and mothers, strengthening immune systems, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease), and longevity, adding, Healthy children learn better, people who receive adequate nutrition are more productive and can create opportunities to gradually break cycles of poverty and hunger.

Malnutrition, in all its forms, represents a major threat to human health. Today, the world faces a double burden of malnutrition that includes undernutrition and overweight, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
