In the educational literature, the term skill has been employed as a synonym for ability, willingness, and capability. The abundance is in itself indicative of the multiple definitions that this term has received. Sometimes skill is the ability to perform a specific work and master it according to specific controls, and at another time it is an acquired power or ability that helps a person. To accomplish his work in an effective and effective manner, which is to develop "the sum of knowledge, experiences and values that make the individual able to know himself, manage and express it, and adapt positively to his surroundings in a way that qualifies him to successfully manage the requirements of his life such as learning, achievement, forming relationships, and adapting to the requirements and challenges of daily life, which enhances the individual's knowledge and health." And physical, mental, psychological and spiritual well-being (Life Skills Curriculum) Ministry of Education, Curriculum Department - Bahrain 2003).

According to the World Health Organization, the concept of life skills extends to all areas of life as well as health fields. Life skills are “the ability to demonstrate adaptive and positive behavior that allows individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of daily life.” They are “psychological, social, and relational skills that help people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, and empathize with others.” And coping with managing life in a healthy and fruitful way, "which are the capabilities that help to promote health." By life skills, what is meant is the skills of daily needs or the skills of self-reliance such as eating, drinking, clothing, bathing, and other basic things in life, such as (fulfilling needs, clothing, eating, movement, etc. The natural growth of mental and sensory skills, etc.) and the areas of life skills extend to include aspects of human life as a social being and a member of a larger group and in need of adaptation to society. Life and helps him to know himself and discover his relationships with others, (training to acquire life skills such as: building self-confidence and self-esteem, facing psychological pressures, proper communication skills, decision-making, continuous education, cooperation, responsible citizenship, managing life at home, nutrition and health. etc). We can say that there is no specific list of life skills, and that the preparation of lists of life skills and focus on them is done according to the subject and the local conditions. Conflicts can be more prominent in a program for a culture of peace.” Just as the preparation of lists of life skills suggests that these skills are distinct and divergent from one another, the decision-making skill often includes the skill of critical thinking (What are my options?) and the skill of articulating values (What is important to me?) . Ultimately, it is the interaction between skills that produces strong behavioral outcomes, especially when this approach is supported by other strategies such as: media, health policies and services (State of the World's Children, UNICEF, 2006).

Life skills play an important role in the life of young people when applied in a practical, gradual and programmed way to bring about positive behavioral change through practice and training on these skills since childhood, which ultimately encourages prevention of violence and aggression and the development and inculcation of desirable habits, trends and required values. Social skills also play a role. Personality plays an active role in the lives of those who are accommodated to live in harmony and harmony with others. In general, life skills help young people to withstand social pressures, control their behavior, define their values, translate knowledge, values and attitudes into healthy behavior that improves their lives, and make conscious decisions that lead to positive behaviors and face the challenges of their lives and protect themselves, discover alternatives, compare the pros and cons, make logical decisions to solve their problems, and establish relationships with others.
