One of the problems that spouses face, especially at the beginning of their married life, is the need to organize the household budget. This is often due to a lack of experience in managing household affairs and dealing with responsibilities that arise all at once. Therefore, my dear friend, you should pay close attention to this matter from the beginning of your marriage to avoid many problems. Keep in mind that organization is the most important thing. If you follow a precise system, most financial problems will disappear from your life. The wife’s participation in financial matters is also essential. This does not necessarily mean contributing money. A housewife may not work and may have no independent income, but genuine participation is reflected in sound management and the proper allocation of the family income, as the wife serves as the financial manager within her family.
However, dear lady, avoid indicating—whether directly or indirectly—to your husband that his financial capabilities are insufficient to meet the family’s needs. Such words may leave him with feelings of inadequacy and failure, which can lead to disagreements or tensions in married life, even if they seem to stem from other causes. There is also an important point for working women. A working wife often contributes part of her salary or income to the family budget and assumes that her role ends there, leaving her husband to manage spending and allocate resources according to the family’s needs. This is a major mistake because she is giving up her primary role as the first person responsible for managing the affairs of her home. In addition, the husband may feel that his life has not changed much from when he was single, since these were his responsibilities before marriage. Continuing in this way may weaken his sense of the importance of marital partnership. Financial matters play a vital and fundamental role in married life. They are among the most serious challenges facing spouses, especially at the beginning of their marriage. Therefore, a wise and capable wife is one who avoids falling into these dangers and who carries out her responsibilities in this regard in a conscious and proper manner. She helps ensure that the family’s basic needs are met through a balanced spending policy, and she makes her husband feel that the financial stability of their home is achieved through their shared efforts and her effective management.
