Quickly answer the following question: If you had a score between 0 and 10 to say how much you enjoyed a weekday evening versus a weekend evening, which would give a higher average score?

And if you're lucky enough to be extremely happy with your work and love what you do, you'll probably give Weekday evening a higher grade because you can't wait to get back to work, but if you're like many of the very busy people for whom this book is intended, then you probably score higher on weekend evenings because you long for the day off. This, dear reader, is not a good attitude; To live your life madly craving your weekends so you can enjoy them.

But there is a simple and quick solution to this, and it is found in answering the following question: What do you enjoy most on weekends and holidays, and how can you do those things on a regular basis in your regular work week?

If you can identify the main elements of what you enjoy during your days off from work, then there is a good chance that you can incorporate at least some of these elements into your normal workday routine.

Can you, for example, meet up with your friends more during work days for a quick coffee, lunch or an after-hours drink? Can you do any of your hobbies before or after work hours, or if possible even during your lunch break? Can you do some relaxation or meditation exercises or physical exercises during your lunch break or other time of day? A hard work week doesn't have to be a life sentence, so find some balance in your work schedule.
