Do you have good relations with the neighbors?
The rights of the neighbor are among the great rights that we must all adhere to and observe in all circumstances. The honorable hadiths of the Prophet and the hadiths transmitted from the imams, upon them be the best prayers and peace, emphasized the rights of the neighbor to the greatest extent.
We have to ask ourselves: How can we strengthen (the spirit of cooperation) in all fields with others, especially with relatives and neighbors? Indeed, dear reader. How are your relations with your neighbors? Is there cooperation between you and them? Are your relations with them good? The neighbor has a great right over his neighbor. You, dear reader, when you live in your home in peace and security and you are at peace of mind, it is thanks to your good neighbors and thanks to their direct and indirect cooperation with you. And if you want to live in your house and with your family in a better way and with more peace of mind, then you have to strengthen your relations with your neighbors more and more, and learn the method and manner of dealing with them, managing them and keeping up with them, and avoiding harming and harassing them.
We have to avoid harming and disturbing the neighbors, but rather we have to bear their harm and harassment that they cause us and not get angry and revolt against them, just as we must extend a helping hand to them and offer them from time to time whatever gifts and various bids we can.
One day someone asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his progeny): ((Are there rights in our wealth other than the rights that Allah has ordained (zakat)? The Messenger of Allah said: (Yes, helping relatives and checking on the Muslim neighbor. Know that whoever sleeps with a full stomach while his Muslim neighbor is hungry is not a Muslim).
