Tellurium is a semimetallic, lustrous, crystalline, brittle, silver-white element. It is usually available as a dark grey powder and has metal and non-metal properties. Te forms many compounds corresponding to those of sulfur and selenium. When burned in the air tellurium has a greenish-blue flame and forms tellurium dioxide as a result. Tellurium is unaffected by water or hydrochloric acid, but dissolves in nitric acid. It as an atomic mass of 127.6 g/mol-1 and a density of 6.24 g-cm-3. It's boiling point is at 450 degrees Celsius and its melting point is at 1390 °C.
